43rd Ward Aldermanic Forum
Hear the ideas that the candidates for 43rd Ward Alderman have for our Gold Coast Neighborhood, hosted by the Ambassador Chicago Hotel. Stay on after the Aldermanic Forum and enjoy the extended happy hour in Booth One.
This forum will be moderated by GCNA Board Member Carla Walker. We look forward to a spirited exchange of ideas as the candidates explain why voters should vote for them in the February 26, 2019 election to represent the 43rd Ward.
All six of the candidates have been invited to participate:
Leslie Fox
Leslie has been involved in government, business, and local nonprofits. She served Chicago as Executive Director for both the Chicago Host Committee for the 1994 World Cup and the 1996 Democratic National Convention. She contributes to her community as a volunteer for senior citizens.
Rebecca Janowitz
Rebecca is a lawyer with extensive experience in private practice and local government, including serving as Special Assistant for Legal Affairs for the Cook County Justice Advisory Council. She founded the Children’s Book Fair and has served on local school councils and on several not-for-profit boards.
Derek Lindblom
Derek was the President of the
Harvard Law and Policy Review
, served on the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee as an adviser to Senator Charles Schumer, and joined Rahm Emanuel as Chief of Staff of the Mayor’s Economic Council. In the private sector Derek helped launch a successful health-care startup, Livongo Health, as well as several others. In his community he is Membership Director of Wrightwood Neighbors.
Steve McClellan
Steve managed a brokerage firm at the Chicago Board of Trade. He then became Athletics Coordinator/Coach of 3 Point Athletics and formed Youth Producers, a nonprofit that provides before, during, and after-school programs for students all over Chicago. It offers artistic, athletic, and academic services for elementary and high-school students.
