Spring Event

OUR SPRING EVENT WAS HELD ON MAY 12, 2010

The theme of this year’s spring fundraiser “GOOD AS GOLD” highlighted Gold Coast Neighbors’ core concepts of value, stability and growth. Over 200 guests celebrated our value as an organization by joining us at The Racquet Club of Chicago on Wednesday, May 12th from 6 to 9 p.m. The evening featured a tour of one of the magnificent homes in our neighborhood from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. And, along with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, there was music, a fabulous live auction, and for the first time our mega raffle prize was a Buddy International Scooter!

This event was a great opportunity to entertain friends and welcome spring, meet neighbors, and above all, have some fun! We hope to see you next year!

2006 Echoes "Spring Fling”

For many years, Echoes was our annual Spring benefit and Gold Coast Neighbors have been gathering since 1996 at historic venues in our area to learn more about our heritage, visit with our Aldermen, exchange ideas on current issues impacting the neighborhood and to raise funds that support our mission. The name of this event honors the history of the neighborhood - with reference to Echoes of the past.

In 2007, the association's 50th Anniversary was celebrated with a special evening in place of the Echoes event.

Echoes 2006 ~ "Spring Fling" was held at 3Arts on May 4th. The music of pianist Mark Burnell was featured. It was a beautiful evening to mingle throughout the historic building and its courtyard. The event provided the right opportunity to see old friends, meet new neighbors and support the organization.

In April of 2006, GCN held a unique event at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Cocktails for Art Lovers and the Curious.

Past Echoes events have been held at the Charnley-Perskey Home on Astor, the Fortnightly Club on Bellevue, the Sarah Siddons Room at the Ambassador East Hotel and Maxim’s on Goethe.
