President Abby Zanarini conducted a very interesting meeting at Maxim's. Member participation was great as, for instance, lake-front safety issues were discussed.
Alderman Daley announced the North Avenue bridge will finally be replaced, work to start in the coming Summer. Alderman Natarus thanked all for the expressions of good health he has received. He noted the Latin School expansion would start soon.
Both Alderman helped in bringing the fountain that used to be on Wacker Drive to the Northeast corner of Clark and North Avenue.
Special Recognition Awards were given to Karen Herman for her Goudy Parkway efforts, Karen Kammer for reviving the Flower Box Program on the Post Office storage bins, Mary Myers for her PR efforts on our behalf over the years, Peggy Swift for being our "go to" person, great energy and enthusiasm, and Beth Zanarini, our terrific Echoes Chair.
The President's Award was given to Jack Telander, the Association's financial guru for more than 30 years. Also Maureen O'Brien presented "a little blue box" gift to President Zanarini for her dedicated service over the past three years. Thank you Abby very much for your special efforts. |
